The topic of today’s meeting was Dr. Jones’ First Thirty Days
• Ms. Manning expressed appreciation for Dr. Jones’ implementation of a weekly newsletter sent out to all stakeholders to improve communication.
• First Thirty Days-Observations and implementations were presented by Dr. Jones
o Safety is the highest priority
▪ Student/Staff reminders-locking classroom doors, not propping doors, and not opening doors for anyone.
▪ Screening process at front doors and bus ramp in the mornings
o Collaborative planning and leadership meetings:
▪ Mission and Vision-The leadership team is collaborating to develop a mission and vision for our school.
▪ Communication-social media, school website, morning show, and monitors-Ms. Stark will share information via social media, website, and school monitors. Students will be involved in the media center’s morning show, sharing information with fellow students.
o Leadership collaboration
▪ Leadership capacity
• Two novice teachers were added to the leadership team.
▪ Short Term Action Plans-Completed by teachers
• Setting of goals for data analysis is being implemented.
o Monitor progress-Teachers are developing an action plan to monitor student progress.
o Data analysis was identified as a need.
o Semester 2-Intentional, strategic planning is the goal.
▪ Collaborative Planning for Semester 2:
• One week- Complete two weeks of lesson plans.
• The alternate week will be spent on data analysis
▪ Collaborative Planning for the remainder of Semester 1:
• Half the time of weekly meeting on lesson planning
• Other half on data analysis
▪ Backwards planning design implementation is the end goal of collaborative planning sessions.

• Curriculum Nights
o The first Literacy Night is scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM
• Goal of 100% PTA Membership participation
• Tailgate Event-January during champion week
▪ Instructional Focus title change-PROWL time: The purpose is to encourage students to use this time wisely to progress in reading and math.
• Parent Questions
o Transition for 8th grade students-How will 8th grade students and parents be prepared for the transition into high school? This usually starts in January with assistance from the counselors.
o Motivational Events-Will there be more events to motivate students about school? PBIS Events will be scheduled throughout the year.
o Communication with teachers-Will communication gaps between parents and teachers be addressed? Dr. Jones will remind teachers to keep communication with parents consistent.
